Email Marketing
BMO Media is an ecommerce email marketing agency for DTC brands on Shopify and Klaviyo. We audit the account, rebuild the revenue flows (welcome, browse and cart recovery, post-purchase, win-back), then run a campaign calendar that earns every send. The target is email at a third of store revenue, attributed, and reported every month.
What we do
Why email is still the highest-margin channel a DTC brand owns
Paid acquisition gets more expensive every quarter. Email does not. Klaviyo's 2026 benchmark across 183,000 businesses found that automated flows produce 41% of all email revenue from just 5.3% of sends. Omnisend's 2026 report puts automated email conversion at 0.77% against 0.12% for campaigns, more than six times higher. The money is in the automations most brands set up once and never revisit.
The brands we audit usually share the same shape: a welcome series written two years ago, abandonment flows that fire once and stop, a post-purchase sequence that asks for nothing, and a campaign calendar that blasts the whole list twice a week. Fixing that order of operations is the job. For Darc Sport, Klaviyo automations now carry 30% of total email revenue and the email list grew 18% in the same period.
Klaviyo email marketing built on flows first, campaigns second
Your email program has two engines and we run both. Flows are the always-on automations: welcome, browse abandonment, cart and checkout recovery, post-purchase, win-back. They drive most ecommerce email revenue quietly. Campaigns are the broadcasts: launches, promotions, education and storytelling that keep the list warm. Most brands lean on campaigns and leave flow revenue on the table. We fix the flows first, then make every campaign earn its send.
Flow work starts with the money paths. A welcome series that earns the first order. Browse and cart abandonment that recovers intent before it cools. Checkout recovery that catches the last-second drop. Post-purchase sequences that set delivery expectations and ask for the review. Win-back flows that reach lapsed buyers before they forget you. Each Klaviyo flow is a compounding asset: built once, tested continuously, earning every day without another dollar of ad spend.
Campaign work is where most DTC brands overspend attention and underspend thinking. We build a send calendar around your launch and promotion cycle, segment by engagement and purchase behavior instead of blasting the whole list, and protect deliverability with sunset rules and engagement-based sending. The result is fewer sends, higher revenue per recipient, and an inbox reputation that keeps your email out of the promotions graveyard.

Process
How we work: from audit to revenue in four steps
1. Audit, in week one
We read the Klaviyo account the way a buyer would read your P&L: deliverability by domain, every flow's revenue per recipient, segment health, list growth net of churn, and the gaps between what is live and what the catalog needs. You get a ranked list of the three biggest revenue leaks whether or not you hire us. The method is the one in our Klaviyo flow audit playbook.
2. Scope, before any work starts
The audit becomes a scoped program: which flows we rebuild, in what order, how campaigns are planned, and what the first 90 days should return. You approve the sequence and the number before we touch the account.
3. Build in order of revenue impact
Welcome, abandonment and post-purchase go live first, usually inside the first 30 days, because they pay for the rest of the program. Campaigns start once the flows are earning. Every build is tested against the version it replaced.
4. Report, review, reallocate, every month
One report. Flow revenue and campaign revenue separated, revenue per recipient trended, deliverability signals, and a plain list of what we changed and what we will change next. The attribution window never moves, so the numbers stay comparable.
Who it's for
Who our DTC email marketing agency works best with
Growing DTC and ecommerce brands on Shopify and Klaviyo where owned channels are becoming a major revenue line. We are a strong fit for accounts set up once and never revisited, for teams sitting on a large unsegmented list, and for founders who suspect email should be a third of revenue but cannot see where it leaks.
We are a poor fit for anyone who wants a single one-off campaign, or who wants send volume for its own sake. We will always argue for fewer, better emails to better-defined segments. If your flows have not been touched in six months, or email is a small fraction of revenue when it should be a third or more, this is where we start.
Platforms
Platforms we run
Klaviyo is our core email platform and BMO Media is a Klaviyo partner. We build inside your stack rather than moving you onto ours: Shopify and Shopify Plus, Attentive or Postscript when SMS runs alongside email, Okendo or Yotpo for review requests inside the post-purchase flow, and Recharge, Skio or Loop when subscription events need to trigger email. Brands on Mailchimp or another ESP that want to move get a migration plan inside the audit. For the full Klaviyo-specific service, see our Klaviyo agency page.
How we measure it
How we measure email marketing performance
Revenue you can attribute: flow revenue, campaign revenue and revenue per recipient, plus the health metrics that protect it: deliverability, list growth and unsubscribe rate. You will always know what your email program earned and what we changed to move it.
Each month you get flow revenue and campaign revenue reported separately, revenue per recipient trended over time, and the deliverability signals that protect them: engagement by segment, spam complaint rate, unsubscribe rate and list growth net of churn. We also track customer lifetime value by acquisition cohort, because email's real job is the second and third order; you can model yours with our free CLV calculator.
Why hire an ecommerce email marketing agency instead of building in-house
A senior lifecycle marketer covers one skill of five: strategy, copy, design, deliverability and analytics. An agency gives you the full bench plus pattern recognition from dozens of Klaviyo accounts, which is what tells you whether a welcome flow's placed-order rate is a problem or a ceiling for your category. Bain & Company's Frederick Reichheld found a 5% improvement in customer retention produces more than a 25% increase in profit, which is why retention work pays back faster than most hires. If you are weighing the two, read our agency versus in-house comparison.
