PostPilot Agency
BMO Media is a PostPilot agency and PostPilot partner for Shopify brands. We trigger postcards from your Klaviyo flows, suppress customers who just bought, and measure every program against a holdout. For Travelpro, welcome-flow postcards returned 13.79x ROAS (PostPilot case study). Step one is a free audit of which segments mail can reach at a profit.
What we do
Why a PostPilot specialist, not a generalist
Every postcard has a hard cost, so timing and audience decide whether mail pays back. PostPilot's holdout-tested data shows how much timing matters: retention mail sent 31 to 60 days after a customer's last order returned 7.09x to 7.65x median incremental ROAS, against 3.30x for all retention mail (PostPilot 2026 BFCM Benchmark Report, 2025 data). Same channel, more than twice the median return, because the card landed while a second order was still likely.
A generalist runs PostPilot like a print job: one seasonal drop to the whole file, recent buyers included, credited with any order that follows. That reports well and earns little. A PostPilot specialist runs mail like a flow. Cards fire from Klaviyo segments on a behavior, anyone who ordered since the trigger is removed before the file prints, the offer is one email has not already made, and a randomized holdout shows what the mail caused.
That is how we built Travelpro's program: postcards at the end of the Klaviyo welcome flow returned 13.79x ROAS, and checkout abandonment postcards to non-buyers returned 15x+ (PostPilot Travelpro case study).
What's included
What we do inside PostPilot
Break-even math per segment before a card prints: cost per piece against AOV and gross margin gives the response rate each segment must hit, and segments that cannot reach it stay digital.
Klaviyo-triggered postcards as the last step of the welcome, checkout abandonment and win-back flows, after email and SMS have had their window, the structure behind Travelpro's results.
Recent-buyer suppression synced from Shopify and Klaviyo, so nobody who converted from the email gets a discount card for an order they already placed.
Lapsed-purchase timing keyed to days since last order, starting in the 31 to 60 day window and then tuned to your own reorder cycle against a holdout.
Win-back mail to unsubscribed and unengaged customers who still have a shipping address on file; 98% of 250 North American leaders rate direct mail effective for winning back dormant or churned customers (Lob State of Direct Mail 2026, January 2026).
SiteMatch and CartMatch audiences for visitors and carts that never left an email, held to the same break-even line as every other segment.
BFCM mail planned inside the 1 October to 20 November window, where postcards returned 3.89x spend-weighted incremental ROAS in 2025 (PostPilot 2026 BFCM Benchmark Report), with offers that match the email calendar.
Card creative for the 4x6 format: one product, one offer, one unique code, so every response is readable and attribution never rests on a guess.
PostPilot features we lean on
Klaviyo integration: segments and flow steps in Klaviyo decide who gets a card and when. We keep suppression and holdout logic there too, so mail obeys the same rules as email and SMS.
Retargeting and Retention: Retargeting mails email prospects and site visitors who have not bought, such as welcome and abandoned checkout; Retention covers lapsed-purchase and win-back cards to past customers. Every account we take on starts here.
SiteMatch and CartMatch: mail to site visitors and cart abandoners you could not otherwise reach. We gate them by cart value and test them against a holdout before scaling spend.
Lookalike Audiences: prospecting mail to people modeled on your best customers. We switch it on only after retention mail has proven incremental lift, and judge it against your paid social acquisition cost.
AcquisitionAI: PostPilot's modeled targeting for new-customer mail. We treat it as an acquisition budget line, measured on cost per first order and on how many of those customers order a second time.
Switch on first: Klaviyo-triggered Retargeting on the welcome and abandoned checkout flows, the two flows where Travelpro's postcards sit.
When PostPilot is the right platform
Mail is a cost decision before it is a creative one, so here is how PostPilot compares with the alternatives.
Platform | Best fit | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
PostPilot | Shopify brands on Klaviyo that want triggered postcards for retention and acquisition, with managed service plans if needed | Every card has a per-piece cost, so small or low-margin segments rarely pay back; triggers, suppression and holdouts still need an owner |
Lob | Teams that want an API-first print and mail platform with no-code design tools and Braze or Iterable integrations | Its integrations page names Braze and Iterable, not Klaviyo or Shopify, so store-triggered mail and holdouts take more setup |
Batch mailing through a print house | One-off catalog or seasonal drops to a large file at volume print rates | No behavioral triggers, slow turnaround, recent buyers often included, and results read by matchback only |
Email and SMS only (no mail) | Small files or low AOV, where postage cannot pay back | Misses unsubscribed and unengaged customers, who still have a shipping address on file |
If your Klaviyo flows already earn and thousands of past customers no longer open them, PostPilot is the shortest route to mail that behaves like a flow. If AOV at your margin cannot carry a card, stay with email and SMS and fix the sequence in our win-back program playbook first.
Results
Results from our direct mail programs
These figures come from PostPilot's own Travelpro case study, which names BMO as Travelpro's retention partner. The program runs on PostPilot with Klaviyo.
Welcome-flow postcards: 13.79x ROAS.
Checkout abandonment postcards to non-buyers: 15x+ ROAS.
Postcards to unsubscribed customers: 12x to 20x ROAS by segment, and above 20x on three segments, including customers who last purchased 1 to 2 years earlier.
"Klaviyo handles the audience logic and timing, while PostPilot activates those insights through direct mail," says Stephanie Contreras, BMO Media.
Mail works best on top of owned channels that already earn. For Spoonful of Comfort, on Klaviyo, owned-channel revenue rose 25% YoY across Q4, and owned channels carried 46.1% of BFCM revenue. Those are email and SMS results, not mail.
Process
How we work in a PostPilot account
Audit, week one: we size the segments email and SMS cannot reach (unsubscribed, unengaged, cart abandoners who never opted in, customers past their reorder date), price each against cost per piece and margin, and check the Klaviyo flows mail will sit behind. If no segment clears break-even, we tell you before you spend anything on postage.
Scope: which triggers go first, the monthly card budget, the holdout size, and the PostPilot plan that fits your volume, from the Free plan to Pro Services, so you pay for managed help only where you need it.
Build in revenue order: welcome and checkout abandonment cards first, then lapsed-purchase and unsubscribed win-back, then SiteMatch and CartMatch, with acquisition last. Suppression and the holdout go live before the first card prints.
Report monthly: incremental revenue and iROAS against the holdout, cost per recovered customer, revenue per piece, and whether recovered customers place a second order. Mail sits in the same report as email and SMS, on the same attribution window, so it keeps its budget only by earning it.
Who it's for
Who our PostPilot agency works best with
Shopify brands on Klaviyo whose flows already earn, with thousands of past customers the inbox no longer reaches and an AOV that covers a card comfortably at margin. Replenishable products and subscriptions gain most, because a recovered customer keeps ordering. PostPilot mail runs inside our direct mail retargeting service and next to our Klaviyo agency work.
We are a poor fit for brands with small files, low AOV or no repeat purchase, and for anyone who wants one big seasonal drop to the whole list. If mail could pay back for you, book a free direct mail audit and we will price your first segment.
