PushOwl Agency

PushOwl agency for Shopify web push

PushOwl Agency

BMO Media audits and runs PushOwl web push for Shopify brands: the opt-in prompt, the back-in-stock, price drop and abandoned cart automations, and frequency caps shared with email and SMS. If you already run Brevo PushOwl, the first step is an audit of what it earns, then a data-led call to keep it, fix it or move.

What we do

Why a PushOwl specialist, not a generalist

PushOwl, now branded Brevo PushOwl, says it is trusted by over 500,000 merchants (pushowl.com, October 2026). On 23 Oct 2026, its Shopify App Store listing read 'This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store' and directed support questions to Brevo PushOwl. We do not know why, and this page does not guess. The useful question for a brand running it is narrower: what does the channel earn today, and is the subscriber base healthy?

Answering that is specialist work, because web push punishes the generalist habit of sending more. Across 20.8 billion notifications, automated abandoned cart push earned a 5.09% click rate against 0.84% for the average browser push campaign (PushPushGo, 2025 data). The pattern we check for first is the reverse of that: broadcasts to every subscriber, automations left on defaults, and a browser prompt firing on the first page view, where a block sticks unless the shopper digs into browser settings.

The method is the same on every platform we run: for Centr, a fitness app on Braze, we aligned push with email and in-app messaging into one lifecycle, and engagement ran 2.5x higher year over year in key sale periods.

What's included

What we do inside PushOwl

  • A program audit: revenue by automation against broadcasts, subscribers against monthly visitors, opt-in rate by device, and how often push lands on the same day as your email and SMS sends.

  • An opt-in rebuild for mobile first, since 75% of web push subscribers sign up on mobile (PushPushGo, 2025 data): a branded primer after two product views or an add to cart, then the browser prompt only after a yes, knowing iPhone shoppers can subscribe only once the site is on their home screen.

  • Back-in-stock reminders scoped to the exact variant the shopper viewed or waitlisted, sent within minutes of inventory landing, with a deep link to that variant.

  • Price drop alerts sent once to recent viewers of that product, with the old and new price in the copy, and only for real markdowns.

  • Abandoned cart recovery as a short sequence, suppressed the moment the email or SMS cart flow converts the order.

  • Broadcasts cut back to launches, drops and the final hours of a sale, sent to engaged segments only.

  • Frequency caps and quiet hours set against your email and SMS calendar, so push carries the fast alerts and the other channels keep the messages that need room.

  • A move plan when the data calls for one: which tool, when (after peak, never in the weeks before BFCM), how the new prompt re-collects opt-ins, and the reachable audience to expect while it rebuilds.

PushOwl features we lean on

  • Marketing Automation: where most push revenue should sit, so we measure each automation on its own revenue and click rate rather than the app's total.

  • Back-in-stock reminders: the highest-intent message in the store, because the shopper asked for it, and it rarely needs a discount. See our back-in-stock playbook.

  • Price drop alerts: viewers only, once per markdown, with the saving stated in the notification so the click has a reason.

  • Abandoned cart recovery: a first reminder inside the hour while intent is warm, a second at most, and suppression once the order lands.

  • Email and SMS under the Brevo PushOwl name (the Shopify listing title reads 'Brevo PushOwl: Email,Push,SMS'): if those channels already run in Klaviyo, Attentive or Postscript, we keep them there and use PushOwl for push, so one plan governs the caps.

Switch on back-in-stock first: the demand already exists, the margin stays intact and nobody blocks an alert they asked for.

When PushOwl is the right platform

Keeping PushOwl, fixing it or moving is a data call, and the alternatives solve different problems.

Platform

Best fit

Where it falls short

Brevo PushOwl

Shopify stores with an existing web push subscriber base and ecommerce automations already earning

Shopify only; on 23 Oct 2026 its Shopify App Store listing read 'This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store'

OneSignal

Brands that want web push, mobile app push and in-app messaging in one tool, on or off Shopify

More setup than a Shopify app: an SDK or service worker, data tags and Journeys to configure with your developers

Klaviyo push (mobile app push)

Shopify brands with a native app whose email and SMS already run in Klaviyo

Mobile app push needs a native app, so it is not a like-for-like swap for web push on a store without one

Braze

Mobile-first brands at scale running push, in-app, email and SMS from one platform on real-time data

Heavier implementation and quote-only pricing; far more platform than a Shopify web push program needs

If PushOwl is earning and the subscriber base is growing, keep it and fix the program, because a move resets your reachable audience.

If you have a native app, push should follow the app stack, and our OneSignal push for apps and web page covers that route.

If automations earn little and broadcasts carry the volume, the audit shows whether the tool or the program is the problem.

Results

Results from our push programs

These figures come from the linked case studies (Centr runs on Braze, James Michelle on Klaviyo) and show how we run push alongside owned channels.

  • Centr, on Braze: push, email and in-app messaging run as one lifecycle across acquisition, free trial, paying and win-back segments; $1.9M+ in CRM-attributed revenue during the BFCM season; engagement 2.5x higher year over year in key sale periods; trial-to-paid conversions up 20%.

  • James Michelle, on Klaviyo: an email and SMS program where SMS campaign revenue rose 111% year over year while campaign volume fell 3%, SMS flow revenue rose 235% and flow-driven email revenue rose 202%.

Fewer broadcasts, more triggered flows: the same logic we bring to a PushOwl account.

Process

How we work in a PushOwl account

  1. Audit, week one: with access to Shopify and your PushOwl dashboard, we read revenue by automation against broadcasts, subscriber growth against site traffic, opt-in rate by device, broadcast frequency and overlap with email and SMS sends. You get a keep, fix or move recommendation with the numbers behind it, and you keep the audit.

  2. Scope: fix the program inside PushOwl, or move web push to another tool. A move gets a date (after peak, not before it), a target tool and a re-collection forecast built from your traffic against an average web push opt-in of 6% of unique visitors (PushPushGo, 2025 data). You approve it before we touch the store.

  3. Build in revenue order: the two-step prompt first, then back-in-stock, abandoned cart and price drop, then browse abandonment, each tested against the version it replaced. Broadcasts come last, with caps and quiet hours live from day one.

  4. Report monthly: net subscriber growth, opt-in rate and block rate on the browser prompt, click rate and revenue per automation, revenue per thousand subscribers and broadcast count, with the attribution window held constant and push measured on lift, not on orders email already won.

Who it's for

Who our PushOwl agency works best with

Shopify brands already running Brevo PushOwl with a real subscriber base and steady return traffic, especially stores with frequent restocks, limited drops or moving prices. It also fits brands unsure whether to keep the app or move, who want that call made on numbers. We are a poor fit for low-traffic stores where web push will not build an audience worth the setup, brands that want daily broadcasts, and brands whose push should run through a native app. If push is new to you, start with our push notification service and our web push guide.
